Which company do you work for and what do they do?
I work for L’Oreal in the distributing of luxury goods.
What does your job involve in a typical day?
I am part of the Logistics team who organise the supply of finished goods from France to England. My job is on the short-term side, I identify the urgents goods we need, the ones that are going to be out of stock, I analyse the daily service rate and communicate the dead codes ordered by our customers, for all the Luxury Products Division, which has many brands.
How did you get into your current job, and what were you doing before?
I did my placement at L’Oreal whilst I was at University taking a BSc in European Logistics Management. Later, I saw an advert for the job and applied for it.
What qualifications did you need for the job?
My BSc and some work experience.
What do you like most about your job?
I like the contact with other people. I also like the fact that I’m applying what I learnt from my studies to the real world.
What do you see as your next step?
The next thing I would like to do is to be a Logistics Controller and work on the long-term side of logistics, in terms of planning.
