Getting the job:
Caroline left school at 18 with 8 GCSEs and an Advanced GNVQ in Business, but with no clear idea of what she wanted to do. After a period in which she tried a number of jobs, including spending time in the USA working for Camp America, she joined Bibby Distribution, based in Liverpool, 4 years ago. She was initially employed in their Accounts Department.
The Job:
In her job Caroline deals with every aspect of the business – finance, operations, customer service and human resources. Like all companies in the Logistics industry, Bibby rely heavily on IT to support all aspects of the business.
Career Development:
3 ½ years ago Caroline had the opportunity to join Bibby’s Management Training programme. This is a graduate programme, but Caroline was able to join as an internal applicant and worked in a trainee role until taking on her current position as a Marketing Co-ordinator. During her training she has achieved her Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), a recognition of management competence by the industry, and also been part of a number of development sessions in areas such as leadership, communications and team building.
